Antique lawn tennis racket, the 'Standard'.
An original flat top lawn tennis racket with unusual stringing called 'The Standard '. It has a good straight ash frame with rounded edges. The racket has the original shoulder whipping, thick grip with a leather butt cap. The walnut concave wedge has a piece of ash across the throat, throat embossed 'Standard', ta Davis, London. Other side stamped 'AKTIEBOLAGET HUSOVARNA, HELSINGFORS HELSINKI'. The stringing with red trebling top and bottom with two more rows near the center. A good vintage wooden tennis racket.
