Large Antique Warthog Tusk Trophy on wooden plaque, Germany 1900s A large antique Black Forest warthog trophy on a handcarved wooden plaque. The tusks are mounted in a silver plated mounting featuring oak leaves and acorns. The trophy was shot around 1900. Measures: Width: 12.99" (33 cm) Height: 15.75" (40 cm) Depth: 2.56" (6.5 cm) Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges.
