About the Item
Wonderful Repogle World Horizon Series lighted 12” diameter plastic world globe, metal axle, and a custom pine Stand. Beautiful condition with wear as you would expect with a vintage piece. Please see photos, Circa 1950-1980.
See the world in a different light…. this is a fabulous Mid-Century Modern World Horizon Series lighted world globe by Repogle. The Stand is custom-made, created by the pine boards being glued together, then turned on a lathe. There is an inline switch on the cord and the wiring has been checked and everything is good to go. The globe itself is 12” in diameter and comprised of plastic and it rotates on a metal axle with a plastic foot which is screwed to the pine base. It is beautifully designed, has an organic modern or folk-art Ambience, and it needs to be a new fixture in your sitting room, home office, or den. It would be awesome in a young person’s bedroom and it could double as a night-light. Obviously, if you are a teacher or educator, it would be a perfect addition to your classroom. Maybe you’re a travel agent? This globe is ideal for your office space! Honestly, this marvelous lighted world globe is versatile enough to work in any room you choose, you just need to choose to make it yours!

Marvelous vintage MCM (Mid-Century Modern) table lamp by Lawrence Peabody from his Many Moods Collection for Sears & Roebuck comprised of #941 avocado leaf green cylindrical ceramic base and a white glass globe. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. It has its original wiring & socket and no outstanding flaws that we have detected. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.
NOTE: The globe just sits on the top of the base so needs to be in a place where it is secure.

Are you feeling a little “in the mood?” Well, get ready because you’re about to be in “Many Moods!” LOL… This is a STUNNING cylindrical green ceramic table lamp with a white glass globe designed by Lawrence Peabody for his Many Moods Collection for Sears & Roebuck. It was a collection designed to bring different period styles together in the same room including pieces such as furniture, rugs, draperies, ashtrays, and lamps. Each piece designed to let you mix patterns and colors in fresh new ways and but retained their individual character with the ability for each piece to stand on its own, blend beautifully with other compatible pieces, or as lovely additions to the furnishings you already had. These fabulous lamps were available in over thirty hot or cool colors and this gorgeous #941 avocado leaf green color glazed pottery base puts me in a spectacular mood!! Some lamps came with shades while others like this one came with a marvelous milk or white glass round globe. It will look fabulous in ANY room of your home and it’s bursting with mid-century modern magnificence! Whether you are in a bad mood, sad mood, happy mood, or in the mood for a snuggle with your sweetie… This Many Moods Collection table lamp bares just the right ambience to elevate ALL our moods!!
Lawrence Peabody was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1924. He trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he earned a Bachelor of Art degree in 1950 then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1955 he started his own design firm called Lawrence Peabody and Associates in Boston, Massachusetts where his clients included Richardson Brothers, Kohler, Sears & Roebuck, and Boyd Lighting. He assisted in designing several hotels in the United States and the Caribbean. He purchased a home in Haiti in the 1960’s where he and his family would live for six months out of the year. It is where he befriended DeWitt Peters, the founder of Le Centre D'Art, which helped promote interest in Haitian art & craft giving opportunity to hundreds of local artists, many of whom were once impoverished. Mr. Peabody served as Director of Le Centre D’Art. He incorporated Haitian art in his designs and helped bring a collection of one-of-a-kind furniture made by Haitian craftsmen to the United States. Lovely Mid-Century Modern chrome floor lamp with frosted glass mushroom globe by Laurel Lamp Company. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There is nothing outstanding, but you might find small scratches and a small dent on the base if you look very closely, and the globe seems to have a small smudge-like flaw inside the bottom side of the glass but very low visibility.
