About the Item
Decorate an office or a desk with this beautifully preserved antique terrestrial globe. Crafted in France, circa 1870, the terrestrial piece sits on a Napoleon III walnut pedestal base. The paper globe with physics, politics and history, rotates on a calibrated brass basket frame with brass meridian circle, horizon ring and hour ring, supported by four brass quadrants. The colorful globe is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish. One meter circumference, scale 1/40000000. Repair done to a small part (see detailed image).
