Vintage 16 in. Terrestrial Globe and Tropical Colonial Style Bamboo Rattan Stand
About the Item
This vintage terrestrial Replogle World Classic 16 in. relief globe is mounted in a lacquered Rattan Bamboo stand with four legs, each made of three stems and joined by decorative triple cross stretchers. It is of quite unique tropical colonial character rarely seen. The globe is very detailed, mountains are created by a slight relief and the surface decorated with elaborate cartouches, portraits of famous explorers and renderings of historic ships.
