Midcentury Italian Brass and Perforated Black Metal Umbrella Stand 1950s
About the Item
Elegant and well crafted Italian umbrella stand from the 1950s, with a cast iron base, a brass stem with an ivory-varnished top and a black perforated metal body. Perhaps inspired by the work of Mathieu Matégot, this piece is nicely proportioned and is a classy home accent.
There is a stamped serial number under the base (0033), but the manufacturer and the designer have not been identified yet.
There are normal signs on wear and use, mostly on the bottom and on the perforated metal. Light patina on brass. The structure is solid.
