Venetian Fortuny Malmaison Fabric in String and Gold Stripes on Ivory, 28 Yards

About the Item

21st c. print run of Fortuny Malmaison fabric in string and gold stripes on ivory. The Chateau Malmaison, a once derelict estate on Paris’s outskirts, was Josephine Bonaparte’s greatest project. As her husband’s mind was never far from the battlefield, the architects modeled the new entry after his striped military tent - his home away from home. Inside the Chateau, the theme continued in the Consul’s Chamber, where the same striped military fabrics covered the walls and ceiling. Heroic and stately, Fortuny's striped Malmaison fabric brings history to the contemporary with sophisticated grandeur. Fortuny’s methods are passed down among generations of artists who continue creating new work with the techniques and machines from their founding. Material: 100% Cotton Usage: Fortuny fabrics are appropriate for all your furnishing needs, including upholstery, wallcoverings, window treatments, pillows, and other home accessories.
