Hand knotted in wool originating from Turkey circa 1910-1920, this antique rug connotes a subtle floral pattern likely appealing to the emerging French market of the era—the abundance of repeating floral palmettes bearing resemblance to bessarabian and varied European-sensible motifs signifying the intriguing emphasis of scarlet red and pink this transitional rug boasts. The arresting nature of the richer hue invites a natural control in the soothing repetition of the lighter pink and green hues, drawing the eye to admired the sense of movement and the charming, mild wear this classic rug offers a variety of projects; a welcomed addition to the Antique & Vintage rug collection from Rug & Kilim. We’re especially very proud of our vintage Kilims and Turkish rugs curated for our expansive collection of both area rugs and runners alike. Rug & Kilim maintains our own facilities for cleaning and restoration exclusively for carpets we’ve sold to ensure their lasting beauty and care long after a piece leaves our collection.
