Antique Hereke Rug with Slate Field and Large Rosettes

About the Item

This well-woven Anatolian large scatter shows a slate field evenly overlaid by an Avshan allover design of forked “goosenecks”, rosettes, elongated ragged palmettes, stars, stems and florets. Originally northern Persian, the pattern has been elaborated by Turkish urban weavers, Two narrow floral borders. Cotton foundation. Short pile. Good condition. Larger rust rosettes along central vertical axis. Rug Size 5'9x8'4
