Antique Palace Turkish Ushak Carpet 555 X 375 cm
About the Item
Hand-knotted carpet from Turkish Ushaku or Oushaku. Wool on a cotton warp. The carpet has a pleasant warm color and a geometric pattern. The carpet has a calming effect. In this area, the tradition of tying carpets is very old and also famous since the 15th century. Some patterns have been around for centuries with only minor changes, which is why Ushaku carpets are particularly suitable for historic buildings, where they look authentic. Binding density around 90,000 knots per m2. Condition: the carpet is in good condition - see photo, one place has been restored. Date: around 1900.
