Pair Of French Early 19th Century Empire Period Patinated Wood Armchairs

About the Item

A pair of French early 19th century Empire Period patinated wood armchairs. The pair are raised on front circular tapered legs with gilt carved foliate bands at the top and bottom while the at the back are square tapered curved legs. The apron is designed with a top and bottom gilt bands on all sides. Leading up to the upholstered arms are wonderful columns accented by gilt bands and ending with a top rosette. The upholstered back is flanked by additional gilt bands leading to the scrolled top crown.
