Pair of Swedish Gustavian Period Armchairs, circa 1790

About

These chairs were made in Stockholm in the late 18th century by members of the Stockholm guild of craftsman. They have an elegant openwork cut-out design at the back which was distinct to some Stockholm chairs at that time. They have a comfortable curved back and graceful arms with traces of the original paint remaining throughout. Measures: 34.5” high 24” wide 19” deep Seat width 21” Seat depth 18” Seat height 19”.
