About the Item

The Anel armchair is undoubtedly one of the most iconic creations by Brazilian designer Ricardo Fasanello. Crafted from fiberglass and polyester resin, it is upholstered in vibrant orange leather and set on a swiveling base. This original piece, dating from the early 1970s, perfectly captures the sculptural elegance and futuristic aesthetic of the Space Age. Extremely rare, this model was exhibited at the 1975 Salon du Design at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro and comes directly from the designer’s family. Born in São Paulo in 1930, Ricardo Fasanello was already designing and building boats at the age of 14, before becoming one of the leading figures in Brazilian design. This vintage example bears an authentic patina and light surface wear to the fiberglass finish, consistent with its age and history.
