Sculptural Arts and Crafts Oak Arm Chair, Denmark 1920’s

About the Item

Rare decorative sculptural arts and crafts solid oak arm chair with original velvet upholstery with brass nails to hold the upholstery. The chair is made by a unknown Danish craftsman in solid oak in the 1920’s. The chair is the perfect decorative piece in any interior from a traditional arts and crafts style of interior to a more modern style of interior or a more Scandinavian style of interior or even a more Art Deco inspired style of interior. The Arts and Crafts movement in Denmark better known as Skønvirke was a movement in Denmark from the 1890’s until to the 1920’s and had a very big influence on what later on became known as Danish Modern. Some of the big names behind the Danish Arts and Crafts movement were architect Martin Nyrop, designer Thorvald Bindesbøll and architect P.V Jensen Klint (father of Danish designer Kaare Klint).
