Arts and Crafts Michael Andersen & Son Vase with Pewter, Denmark 1890’s.

About the Item

Michael Andersen and Son Arts and Crafts ceramic vase with pewter decoration with the running glaze which was very typical for Michael Andersen and also his son Daniel Folkmann Andersen, this type Blymajolika glazed pieces and their black terracotta pieces helped them establish their name both in Denmark and internationally in the period between 1890 and 1900. The pewter decoration is a good example of how many artist at this time started experimenting with mixing materials. The vase is in good original condition with natural signs of use and no cracks or chips in the glaze or in the pewter or the vase. The vase is the perfect detail for any style of interior from a traditional Scandinavian style of interior to a more art deco inspired style of interior or it could be a great contrast in a modern style of interior.
