A stunning pair of antique Maison Jansen Style Louis XVI painted fauteuil chairs with down cushions and old upholstery tacks. Very rare to find a matching pair of this age. The layered painted surface in shades of cream, olive green and black on the wood frames adds such character to this 100+ year old set. Clearly in need of re-upholstery but the down cushions could be recovered. The wood frames themselves are strong and comfortable to sit in. Stamped FRANCE on the underside of the chair frame.
