Chair (bvb 84/85) designed 1991/fabricated now available in hardwoods, plywood’s, and pine ten designs available Measures: 30 x 15 x 15 inches, each stamped and numbered by Judd Furniture Donald Judd’s furniture is some of the most recognizable and significant artist-designed furniture in existence. Originally designed for use in his own homes in New York and Marfa, the furniture was made by the same techniques and materials used in his larger body of work. There are two kinds of Judd furniture -- vintage or not-vintage. Vintage pieces created during his lifetime can still be found at auction or on the secondary market. They are significantly more expensive than those pieces created since his death in 1994 under the direction of the furniture arm of his estate, Judd Furniture. The pieces we sell are brand new and produced under the direction of Judd Furniture. The metal pieces are fabricated by Lehni in Switzerland which is the original factory that made Judd's metal wall boxes. All metal pieces come in 21 stunning colors and solid copper. The wood pieces are fabricated in California by one of the collaborators Judd worked with in his lifetime. Wood materials include a large variety of plywood, pine and hardwoods. A stamp issued by Judd Furniture is impressed on the underside of all pieces to authenticate the work. The B-vB reference number that is both part of this stamp and used to reference the title of each design refers to the catalogue for the exhibition "Donald Judd, Furniture Retrospective" at Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam, April 4 – June 20, 1993. Judd Furniture is produced and distributed worldwide exclusively by Judd Furniture and Judd Foundation on behalf of its clients.
