About the Item

Beautiful made pair Folding Chairs (model MK-16) after the design of Mogens Koch. These examples where manufactured by Valmazan, Spain and features a stained oak frame with brass details and red leather upholstery and straps. The chairs are in good original vintage condition with normal user wear. Mogens Koch designed the MK16 Folding Chair for a supplemental church seating contest in 1932. Reinterpreting the traditional folding stool by combining easy folding and storage option with modern aesthetics. The forward-thinking concept was deemed too radical in its expression at the time of its inception. In the 1960s, however, the chair began to attract design experts and gain popularity, and soon went into serial production.
