About the Item

Mahogany Regency hall chair by Gillows circa 1815 with Roman and Greek architectural influences, the top cresting rail has bold Greek key decoration, the back panel has a step oval centre and moulded perimeter. The solid mahogany seat is also stepped with an reeded edge, resting on fine octagonal tapered legs which are stamped WH Gillows journeyman’s initials, the chair is in very good condition.
