Set of Eight Red Austrian Midcentury Roland Rainer Stacking Chairs

About

A set of eight stackable chairs designed by Prof. Roland Rainer in 1951 and manufactured by Emil & Alfred Pollak, Austria, in 1950s in a rare red lacquered version. Roland Rainer used these chairs for the Viennese city hall "Wiener Stadthalle" in 1956-1962. The chair was named after that as the well-known "Stadthallensessel". Now they are one of the most sought after Austrian Midcentury Design Objects. The Chairs are made of beechwood and lacquered beech plywood. Very good original vintage condition with signs of use due to their age.
