Pierre Guariche Tulip Chair, Cast Aluminum, Steiner Meubles, Paris, 1954

About the Item

A Pierre Guariche cast aluminium "Tulip" chair dating from the 1950s. With the metal being cast there is a rawness and imperfect finish to the seat that adds wonderful character. Its curved shell offers a very comfortable sitting position. This chair is sometimes listed as "Tonneau" chair. In overall good vintage condition, some signs of wear. Other than the natural imperfections of cast metal which is an important aspect of the design there are odd scrapes to the legs. The leg-fixing bolt holes in the shell have been filled with silver wax. Dimensions: Width: 46 cm / 18.11 inches Depth: 48 cm / 18.89 inches Height: 72 cm / 28.34 inches Seat Height: 41 cm / 16.14 inches We offer fast, competitively priced global shipping - please contact us to discuss.
