  • 2003 Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Egg Chair in Purple Fabric 2x Avail
    By Arne Jacobsen, Fritz Hansen
    Located in Philadelphia, PA
This is a single Egg Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Fritz Hansen of Denmark in 2003. The price listed is for one chair, though two are available. Each chair is upholstered in a purple hopsack-like upholstery, likely Tonus by Kvadrat. The foam and fabric are in excellent shape. No rips or tears are noted. The chairs were produced in 2003 and lived in a gorgeous biotech headquarters designed by Behnisch Architekten in Cambridge, MA. The architectural firm specced this chair, which is notable. These are signed and marked Fritz Hansen pieces. The fabric shows some light wear from use and some light fading (one is noticeable, not really on the other) . If you'd like us to have the chair professionally cleaned prior to shipping, we can certainly arrange that without issue. Each chair measures 42 inches tall by 34 inches wide and 31 inches deep. The seat height is 15 inches. As noted, the price listed is for one chair. Multiple blue egg chairs...

    By Mobilier International, Oscar Niemeyer
    Located in Philadelphia, PA
We present this 'Alta' lounge chair, featuring a curved brushed stainless steel frame, and a generous seat pad that is upholstered in a black fabric. The chair was acquired from a Philadelphia-area estate, accompanied by other noteworthy pieces by Mies Van Der Rohe, Florence Knoll, and Finn Juhl. The chair was designed in 1971 by Oscar Niemeyer, in collaboration with Anna Maria Niemeyer. This particular example is attributed to Mobilier International as far as production, though the piece is unmarked. This special piece was launched in France, and was Niemeyer’s first foray into the field of industrialized and commercialized furniture. This is a listing for one lounge chair. The chair measures 45 inches in depth, 31 inches in width and 31 inches tall. The seat height is 18 inches. The black upholstery is in wonderful condition and the thick foam seat pad is intact and is in great shape. The chair shoes some light wear from use. Oscar Niemeyer was a critical figure in the Brazilian Modernist architectural movement, and the capital city of Brasilia owes much of its curvaceous futuristic facade to his vision. The acquisition of this important chair...

The "Toga" chair was designed by Sergio Mazza and produced by Artemide in 1968. It was first exhibited in 1969 at the International Furniture Exhibition in Milan. The design is an example of Mazza's excellence in aesthetic and materials. The "Toga" chair is cast in one singular piece, created through a hot press molded process to create this sculptural form. This chair can even be stacked, as it was in the advertisements from the 1960s and 1970s. They can also be seen in the 1970s television...
