About the Item

This is the Alf Svensson, 3 Domus easy chair set from Dux. It comes with three easy chairs in mahogany stained beech, loose cushions with spring core and wool fabric. This chair, today a really cool sought-after retro model, was designed in 1955 for the H55, the Hälsingborg Exhibition 1955 how was an international exhibition for architecture, housing and design, arranged in Helsingborg by Slöjdföreningen. _________________ Alf Svensson (1923-1992) was a Swedish furniture designer. After his education at The School of Slöjdföreningen, he got 1950 the position of chief architect at Dux. A number of iconic furnitures left his desk in the following years. During the same time he was also creative director at the lighting factory Bergbom & Co. Together with Yngvar Sandström he started in 1961 the design office S-Design. During the 1960s and 70s, they came to create a large number of popular furniture. The easy chairs Form7, Galaxy and Contour are some of today’s classics. Dux Mattress Factory was founded in Malmö in 1926 by Efraim Ljung (1878-1955), a Swedish industrialist from Bankeryd. Efraim Ljung was the owner of a large number of companies in widely different industries such as furniture, lighting, food, electronics and printing. In 1951, all Ljungs companies merged under the name Ljungs Industrier. Dux became threw the years Efraim Lungs most famous company and is still active with offices in Malmö, Porto and New York NY.

Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. The cushions are professionally vacuum cleaned right before the publishing. Some stains remains. The colors of the fabric are a bit, but evenly faded. The frames is stable, free of visible marks and evenly colored without fading.
