About the Item
Pair of lounge chairs by Alf Svensson for Ljungs industries, later known as DUX, made in the 1950s. Black lacquered steel frames with removable cushions upholstered in luxurious cognac colored leather.
This model was first introduced at the iconic international exhibition for architecture and design, H55, in Helsingborg in 1955. They represent a new style of furniture that emerged along with TV culture, inspired by American furniture and architecture, which changed the way people furnished their homes. This model became serially produced with a wooden frame and these metal ones are a very rare find.
