Arflex Virgola lounge chair by Jaacov Kaufman, 1991

About the Item

The bright red Virgola armchair comes with a velvet/felt cover which is in good condition. Minimal patina on the seat. The cover can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement using a zipper system. The upholstery made of molded polyurethane and polyester fiber is fixed to the steel frame using elastic bands. The black frame shows minimal signs of wear. The Virgola, comma, armchair is an absolute statement piece in any room. The traditional Italian manufacturer Arflex was founded in 1947 by Carlo Barassi and Renato Teani and focused on the new material polyurethane. With the support of the designer Marco Zanuso, they managed to build Arflex into one of the most innovative furniture manufacturers in Italy. The Virgola armchair was designed by the Israeli designer Yaacov Kaufman for Arflex in 1991.
