Iconic Peter Hvidt Boomerang Chair for France & Son

About the Item

Designed by Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen (1907-1993) were Danish architects and furniture designers, true pioneers of Danish mid-century design and the founders of Copenhagen-based firm Hvidt & Mølgaard. Among their production, the Boomerang chair with its sleek design and refined elegance is a masterpiece. The hand-polished teak sides, whose unmistakable shape is giving its name to the model, rest gently on thin steel legs, fitting perfectly in any space. These chairs come with all original parts, feet, cushions and the springs holding them.

The Djinn lounge chairs, designed by Olivier Mourgue (born 1939) for Airborne in 1963, are one of those very few quintessential and emblematic early space age designs which - much like the character from the 2001 a Space Odissey movie where they were notoriously featured - evaded space and time to, at first glance, catch the eye and the heart of the beholder, no matter the context nor the timeframe. Rightfully considered as the climax of the 1960s french seat...
