About the Item
This Victorian ladies rocker matches the youth chair we have also listed. The arms and back are high Victorian style. It was probably a mother's nursery chair perhaps used for nursing her baby. The seat is leather and has been painted white. It is delicate and leans back to rock the baby to sleep.

The seat was originally cane and has been covered with painted white leather. Like most antique wicker pieces we assume this one was repainted over the years. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. One arm is slightly loose but stable. Top of spider weave back slightly damaged and slightly loose. A small bit of weave missing at the side. The chair has been lovingly used to rock and nurse babies, yet not abused. Over ages repainted.

Part of a large collection of ornate Victorian wicker that was collected over the years by a Senator's wife. This rolled woven arm loveseat has wicker curlicues in the open areas under the side arm rests. Across the back are alternating lattice weaving and woven portions.
