Walter S. Chenery "Gemini" Rocking Chair for Lurashell, UK 1960

About the Item

A beautiful "Gemini" rocking chair designed by Walter S. Chenery, manufactured by Lurashell in the United Kingdom around 1960. This very comfortable lounge chair has a wonderful organic shaped design. It is upholstered in high quality mint green fabric with a matching, comfortable cushion all held in a black fiberglass shell. The teak base is made with a wonderful eye for detail and provides a nice, smooth rock. The design is most likely inspired by the Gemini star sign, as there are some resemblances in the shapes. All together this creates an exceptional seating comfort to this beautiful, very inviting piece. It is a rare find that will make a beautiful addition to any decor! It remains in good original condition (rare!) with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
