About the Item

Available right now we have a De Sede Nonstop DS-600 Sofa—an absolute designer’s dream and a true icon of 1970s design. This particular gem, upholstered in its original vintage chocolate leather, is a rare find in such pristine condition. With 23 individual elements, this monumentally large sofa stretches to an impressive length of almost 20 feet and 90 inches deep, offering endless possibilities to reconfigure it into curves, straight lines, or even to coil in on itself like a piece of sculptural art. It's practically a piece of living architecture! First launched in 1972, the DS-600 is inspired by the mythical Alpine creature, the Tatzelwurm—a snake-like figure of legend, and this sofa takes on that same fluid, sinuous form. Each segment can be zipped together, allowing you to create everything from a traditional lounge setup to wild, free-flowing arrangements that breathe creativity into any space. Whether you want a dramatic, curving statement piece for your living room, an expansive lounge for gatherings, or a sculptural feature to anchor a creative studio, the DS-600 adapts effortlessly. Founded in Switzerland in the 1960s, De Sede is renowned for its unrivaled craftsmanship and exquisite leatherwork. The company began as a small saddlery workshop, but quickly grew into a global name in luxury furniture, known for producing pieces that merge Swiss precision with the ultimate in comfort. The DS-600 Nonstop is one of the most iconic products in De Sede’s history, representing a high point in 20th-century furniture design. Its supple leather, sculptural form, and groundbreaking modularity helped the DS-600 earn a permanent place in design history—and even the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s longest sofa. This particular sofa has not just a design pedigree but a cinematic one, too. Its bold, architectural presence has graced the sets of iconic films and TV shows like Scarface, The Hunger Games, Robocop, American Horror Story: Hotel, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, and Wonder Woman 1984. Its striking form and endless configurability make it a favorite among set designers and filmmakers alike. But beyond its visual and cultural impact, what truly sets the DS-600 apart is its comfort. Unlike many design icons that look gorgeous but aren't exactly inviting, this sofa is the best of both worlds—stunningly beautiful and luxuriously comfortable. The original chocolate leather has aged like fine wine, offering a warm, welcoming seat that invites you to sink in and stay a while. If you're looking for a piece that’s equal parts art and function, a transformative addition to any lounge, office, or creative studio, the De Sede Nonstop DS-600 is the ultimate designer’s dream come true. We currently have this sofa paired with a Paul Evans Credenza as well as a Vladimir Kagan contour lounge chair, and not only does this sofa make a statement, it really steals the show! As photographed with B&B Italia Fat Fat coffee tables, a Guido Faleschini dining set and Cleo Baldon bar stools. Each piece measures approximately 9.5".
