This is a pair of antique carver chairs. An English, mahogany and leather elbow seat in the Chippendale manner, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800. Superb Chippendale taste and fine craftsmanship Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich, deep caramel hues Wonderful leather pads, tanned in a rich burgundy hue Serpentine cresting rail, with scrolled detail to the 'Chippendale' ears Leading into a striking, pierced ribbon back splat with graceful fretwork Sinuous arms terminate in appealing scrolled knuckles Each arm raised upon a slender, forward canted support Quality, leather upholstery in good order, free of marks or loss Professionally reupholstered and traditionally stuffed cushioning Drop-in seat at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25"), resting upon later reinforced brackets Raised upon square section front legs, with a gently splayed pair to the rear This is a fantastic pair of antique carver chairs in the appealing manner of Chippendale.
