Vintage Leather and Bentwood Armchair by Brazilian Designer, Sergio Rodrigues

About the Item

Mid Century armchair by prolific Brazilian architect and furniture designer, Sergio Rodrigues (1924-2014), having the original natural leather suspension seat held by a walnut frame with bentwood arms. Known for his stylish yet comfortable seating, Rodriguez is often called “the father of modern Brazilian design” for accurately capturing the spirit of his country in his iconic designs. Circa 1960s. The chair measures 30.5” tall x 23.5” wide x 22” deep. The arm height rests at 22” tall with a 17.5” seat height. The interior seat measurements are 19” wide x 17” deep. The chair frame is solid and sturdy and the leather is in a well-worn condition with a beautifully aged patina and all fittings are the original. It would make a great studio chair!

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. The chair frame is solid and sturdy and the leather is in a well-worn condition with a beautiful patina. All fittings are the original- expect fraying of threads, fading in areas of use, oxidation to metal, and natural discoloration to aged leather.
