About the Item
An 18th century Italian Venetian sofa with removable back. This antique sofa from Italy, just over 6 feet in length, features a beautiful wood trimmed lines throughout; the flat-edged wooden crest rail which flows gently down the arms, which gracefully curve outward at each far end. The skirt has a clean and straight trim, with emphasis of raised squares at each corner, and a single carved medallion adorning their center. This piece is raised upon six fluted cylindrical legs. Seat, back, and arm sides have been newly upholstered in a neutral toned Belgian linen, which highlights the rich, warmth wood tones. Please note that the back is removable, and because of this the back tends to have a little give to it, but it is not unstable. See our additional images on the conversion from sofa to bench. This 18th century Venetian sofa is pure and elegant, it will be a graceful and sophisticated addition to any living space within your home or office, functioning either as a sofa or a bench.
