19th C. English Mahogany Curule Stool

About the Item

An English carved-mahogany wood curule-style stool from the 19th century. This antique stool from England has been created in the Curule (or often referred to as Dante) style, featuring a swag-carved seat which is raised upon a pair of legs comprised of two half-moon shapes, which attach at each of their rounded mid-sections (one atop the other). Carved medallions add a decorative touch where the legs attach at the seat, and at the ends of each of the three stretcher bars that run between the legs along the underside of the bench. The rich mahogany wood has been newly polished. This 19th century English stool, with its harmonious curule design, is an aesthetically pleasing additional or accent seating option that is versatile enough be used endlessly throughout your home.
