About the Item

A very handsome and robust foot stool with substantial cabriole legs terminating in pony hoof shaped feet with well carved hoofs and hocks. Newly and professionally re-padded and upholstered in an ivory/mink coloured pure silk upholstery fabric by the Gainsborough Silk Company which retails at over £225 a meter. The stool is original and solid with no worm or damage, in really good condition for age with only minor dings and scuffs to the frame which is excellent quality Honduran mahogany. Heavy and very well made, this is a charming late Georgian stool in a rarely found hoofed form – elegant, usable and very comfortable indeed. Stands well, with lovely proportions and would light up any room. Dimensions are: 18.5 inches high, 28 inches wide at feet and 25 inches wide at top, 18 inches deep at feet and 15.5 inches deep at top.
