Pair of Vintage bentwood Low Tables or Stools After a Design by Alvar Aalto
About the Item
This pair of vintage 3-legged low stools or tables from the designer Alvar Aalto were first introduced in the 1930s. Both made circa 1955 and clearly having always lived their life together are designed to stake and are in good original condition and have never been refinished or altered and are still structurally sound, viable, and current today.
Aalto was born in 1898 and worked until his death in 1976 was a Finnish architect, furniture designer, and style expert for the international movement of design creating comfort and better living. His best & most iconic works are based on the shape and material used to their best aspects without unnecessary design elements or applied decoration. This pair of stools show their age but have been lovingly maintained and used, the screws and finish are complete with an incredible mellow patina and a low soft sheen. While the overall diameter is 15.50, the diam of the tops are 14.25.
