Large English Victorian Dome Top Canvas Steamer Travel Trunk. Monogrammed F.H.D.
About the Item
A gorgeous Victorian extra-large travel trunk. The antique trunk has an attractive dome top and is bound with wood. The handles on the sides are made of thick leather and are in great condition. The case has two side latches on the front and a large latch in the middle (no key). The corners are enforced with leather patches. On the top of the antique 'suitcase,' there's beautiful handwritten typography saying; F.H.D.
Inside there are two compartments; on the top is a fabric container for lighter items and underneath a large space. The original fabric has been stripped from the inside, but the trunk can be used without or recovered.
The antique travel trunk is in great original condition for its age. It has lovely colour and patina to the finish. However, there is some damage to the base, which does not show or have an effect when in use (please see the last image).
