Irresistible Pair Art Deco Austria Vienna Large Bookcase Cabinets or Nightstands

About the Item

Top class coromandel Art Deco bookcases, cabinets, nightstands or stands This early twentieth century and good size Austrian pair of Art Deco bookcases with its stunning design makes a great statement piece for your private library or livingroom or bedroom. Thanks to the overal design, the amazing grain in the beautiful wood and the remarkable inlaid brass Art Deco patterns these tall cabinets are works of art in their own right. The half open design with the closed cabinet doors at the bottom and the open display-cabinet-like-shelves above makes it possible to use this one of a kind pair for all kinds of purposes. The inlaid brass patterns are as good as we have ever seen them and in these cabinets they stand out extra well, because of the contrasting colors. This one of a kind pair of pilar bookcases with their amazing patina are as strong and stable as the day they were handcrafted well over 100 years ago. The original lock and key are missing but the replacement clasp hardware works perfectly. From the same home we also purchased a superb and matching Viennese Arts and Crafts clock (see image 9) that we will advertise later. These real unique cabinets really are great value for money. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing (in custom made boxes or crates) and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 workdays are included in our fair price. Anyone who has ever asked for a shipping quote for a piece this size will realize how fast we deliver and also how competitive our prices really are. Maximum height x width x depth: 59.7 x 14.2 x 13.9 inches. Height between the shelfs: 10.25 inches. Depth of the two upper bookshelves: 9.1 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.

Large Art Deco Cerused Oak Display Cabinet Bookcase circa 1940
Located in Shippensburg, PA
ART DECO CERUSED AND EBONIZED OAK DISPLAY CABINET WITH FLANKING BLIND BOOKSHELVES Probably German, as the locks are of German origin executed circa 1940 with chromed steel accents throughout Item # 401QGP02S A fabulous Art Deco era display cabinet, the substantial case piece features a glazed central door flanked by two blind-doors on either side. These open to reveal an adjustably shelved interior, the oak bars on the side allowing the 3/8" thick glass shelves to be flexibly changed to suit the books stored within. The central door features a chromed rim around the glass door that cohesively ties in with the chrome-plated keyhole escutcheons and the chrome base molding on the bottom of the cabinet. It was probably made in Germany, as one of the locks bears markings of German manufacture, though the craftsman may have simply had a preference for this locking mechanism and imported it. Note the high-grade of cabinet work throughout - all surfaces have been carefully veneered with a cerused and ebonized oak, the interior of the center display area with a red-stained cerused oak and the interior of each flanking cabinet space lined with mahogany veneers. Importantly, despite the incredibly spacious proportions, the entire cabinet can be disassembled for safe transport. The top is removed with bolts on the inside corners...
