Early 19th Century French Louis XV Carved Cherry Four-Door Buffet from Poitou

Beautiful and functional, this elegant antique enfilade from Southern France is not to be missed; crafted in Provence circa 1900, the buffet with bombe facade and curved sides, stands on escargot feet embellished with acanthus leaf decor. The scalloped apron is decorated a traditional Provençal hand carved vase flanked with floral motifs on the sides. This elegant, antique fruit wood sideboard was carved in Southern France, circa 1880. The Classic sideboard exemplifies the Louis XV style with a heavy presence, dramatic lines and intricate floral and foliage carvings throughout. The cabinet stands on small cabriole legs ending with escargot feet, over a scalloped apron heavily decorated with a center urn filled with floral and leaf motifs. The cabinet features a pair of drawers across the front dressed with heavy forged iron handles and matching escutcheons (and two fake drawers at the end!), over hand carved laurel and oak branch decor. A French two-door buffet cabinet with nicely carved skirt from the early 19th century (or possibly earlier). This antique painted and carved wood cabinet from France has a rectangular-shaped top with rounded front corner edges, which rests above a case of fitted with a pair of doors that arch together at center, and raised upon cabriole feet. Each door is adorn with shapely raised-panels within their centers, and flanked within rounded side posts carved with an elongated oval panel and thick acanthus leaf towards the skirt. The beautiful paneling continues at underside of top front, and either cabinet side. The skirt is exquisite, and pierce carved with leafy c-scrolls along the front with scalloped sided. The pale gray color with hints of taupe and blue which peak out from beneath reads as neutral from a distance. Trim and carvings are accentuated in a soft taupe color.
