About the Item

This is the 1930s Swedish Grace cabinet made from elm and birch in nearly excellent condition. It comes with a tall elegant leg structure with soft rounded “hips” decorated with hand carved ornaments. The tapered mid section gives the cabinet a “waistline” which accommodates a wide lockable drawer. There are two doors. Behind the left one hides one fixed and two movable shelves. Behind the right door, one pull-out shelve and 4 drawer. The drawers show real skillful craftsmanship. The locks works and a two ornamented keys are included. ____________________ Swedish Grace is the Swedish peculiarity of the modern style Art Deco of the time. The expression was proclaimed in 1925 by an English journalist during the World Exhibition in Paris. Strict elegance, created through superficial decoration on simple forms with clean surfaces. The working methods were often complicated and the materials exclusive, which required the most skilled craftsmen.
