Exceptionally Early Swedish Primitive Cabinet, circa 1700–1730

About the Item

Exceptionally Early Swedish Primitive Cabinet, circa 1700–1730 This primitive Swedish cabinet truly speaks to us. It has never been painted, and the few restorations that have been made only enhance and deepen its sense of age. This is a rare, simple 'fäbod' cabinet that was never fitted with a lock, and it was largely crafted using an axe. We love this kind of simple furniture that has not only withstood the test of time — it is still here today. Even though it was made in a modest way, the mouldings function beautifully, and its baroque shapes are truly special. Made out of pine wood.
