19th Century Swedish Serpentine Four-Drawer Commode with Weathered Finish

About the Item

A Swedish painted wood serpentine four-drawer commode from the 19th century with bracket feet. This Swedish 19th century chest-of-drawers features a beautifully weathered finish, perfectly complimenting the crossbow shape of the piece. The façade comprises four hand-cut dovetailed serpentine drawers, each adorned with two round wooden pulls flanking a central escutcheon. The commode is raised on four wraparound bracket feet. With its graceful, sinuous lines and nicely weathered appearance, this 19th century Swedish four-drawer commode will bring a touch of elegance to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or hallway, perhaps anchored with a giltwood mirror and a pair of sconces.
