Early 20th Century Transition-Style Chest of Drawers from Maison Rinck
About the Item
This Louis XV-transition-style chest of drawers from the early 20th century features two large drawers with a central raised section. The marquetry made in rosewood is delicate, resembling the wings of a butterfly. The piece, crafted on a framework of solid oak, is also embellished with mahogany stringing inlay further adorned with Greek motifs, and bordered with rosewood edging. The surface of this piece is topped with a gorgeously veined peach blossom marble, which exudes timeless elegance. The gilded bronze fittings of this chest of drawers showcase exceptional craftsmanship, including drops, lock escutcheons, drawer pulls, and feet. This fantastic chest of drawers bears the signature of the Parisian workshops of Maison Rinck, stamped on its back.
