    MINIATURE GEORGE III MAHOGANY TABLETOP DOCUMENT BOX England, circa 1785 Item # 011BMA19P An austere and rather interesting George III tabletop document box, the purity of structure, early oxidized surface and total lack of embellishment are most magnetic features. The open dovetail structure locks the dense mahogany primary woods of the case together. Two rows of two drawers are situated over a single large drawer, each with original bail pull hardware to match the handles on the sides of the case. The drawer construction is typical of the period with pine secondary woods carefully dovetailed at the joints and the drawer bottoms running perpendicular to the drawer face.
