About the Item

A superior example of 18th century Italian cabinetry, demonstrating fine proportions and materials. The original hand shaped sienna marble-top set within a gilded gesso molding, overtop a case decorated with inlays of kingwood, mahogany, walnut & satinwood, fitted with two tiers of full width drawers retaining their original fire-gilded pulls & functioning iron locks. The drawer fronts inlaid with romantic & mythological neoclassical motifs accented with inked highlights set against lustrous satinwood panels with kingwood borders & inlaid chevron detail. Raised overall upon four inlaid tapering supports terminating to gilded gesso collared feet. The surface beneath the sienna marble top bears stenciled lettering as illustrated. IMPORTANT NOTE: For all interested U.S. & Overseas clients, we are currently in the process of establishing a means to expedite the process of obtaining the necessary CITES export permit required to ship items constructed of mahogany, satinwood & other exotic materials - whether in part or in whole, to both United States & overseas clients. That being said, at this point it may take upwards of several weeks or possibly months to obtain the necessary CITES Export permit.
