About the Item

When searching for a perfect chest of drawers for a hall, dining room or bedroom, that exudes sophistication and southern charm, this piece from Hickory Chair Company could be your answer. Constructed of beautifully figured mahogany, four dove-tailed, graduated drawers with polished brass batwing pulls, fluted angle corners, ornate Chippendale style carving across front top of chest giving that added touch of elegance and all this beauty sits atop bracket feet. The chest was solidly constructed with red oak as the secondary wood. This piece was created by the Hickory Chair Company as part of their Historic James River Plantation collection which is inspired by 18th and 19th century pieces out of Virginia. The chest has a custom-cut piece of smoked glass for the top. The top finish has sustained some minor scratching, which the smoked glass acts to diminish. A stunning chest.
