New York Marble Column Rosewood Bookcase / Credenza With Marble Top 19th Century

About the Item

This New York Marble Column Rosewood Bookcase / Credenza With Marble Top is made in the Neoclassical Style in the early 19th Century. The Credenza is Rosewood veneer with elegant Carrara marble columns and top. The Bookcase has bronze five tip stars around the Frieze above the doors. There are weaved brass grill inset within the doors covering pleated grey silk with adjustable shelves behind. The applied molding under the marble resembles the molding on PLATE 42 and FIGURE 99 d in "Honore Lannuier CABINETMAKER FROM PARIS". This Credenza has one of the best presence of scale in the Classical Design. Also the Bookcase has five tip bronze stars around the Frieze above the doors that relate to stars on the Jacket / Cover, Opposite Title Page, PLATE 41, 54, and cat. no. 5. See photo 8 and 9.
