19th c American Cherry Two Part Step Back Cupboard w/Tiger Maple Drawer Fronts

About the Item

A fine cherry two part step back cupboard, its upper case with a molded cornice surmounting a center three panel window, flanked by two glazed glass doors which open to a light blue painted two shelf interior with carved plate rails, over five small fitted drawers with tiger maple drawer fronts, over a lower case with working surface and four fitted drawers continuing with the tiger maple fronts, over two blind panel doors, opening to a single shelf storage compartment, and the carved skirt is nicely shaped. The cupboard is in very good condition, with original wavy glass panels, minor glaze losses, other minor imperfections and light wear commensurate with age and use. A metal support bar has been added on the back for stability, and some of the hardware has been replaced, including magnets added to the lower doors.
