About the Item

Antique Georgian housekeeper's cupboard secretaire bookcase chest crafted during the George III era around 1800. Also known as an estate cupboard, this rare period piece showcases exceptional quality. Sturdy and well-constructed with no loose joints, the piece exudes age, character, and charm. Ideal for the right setting, it is free from woodworm, and the key unlocks the cupboard door only. The writing surface, later patinated leather, adds to its distinctive character, and the drawers slide smoothly. Overall maximum dimensions: 117.5cm in width, 56cm in depth (78cm with the writing surface down), and 185cm in height (83cm base height plus 102cm top height). As is customary with genuine antique furniture, the cupboard bears historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs, and alterations. Please note that this item is substantial and weighty. Ensure it fits and can be maneuvered into the intended room before purchase. The customer must provide one strong, able-bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying. Stock No. 15676.
