About the Item

Art Deco- streamline 3-door wardrobe designed by Arch. Hana Kucerová-Záveská (Czech, 1904–1944) and manufactured by Robert Slezák Company, circa 1935. The outstanding form of this wardrobe is the expression of a modern and innovative design as result of a new technical and productive technology adopted at the time. To simplify and speed the production, the wardrobe body was designed to be sustained by a metal structure in which the veneered blockboard sides are screw or riveted together. The front side presented a characteristic rounded chrome-plated frame, in which the doors are fixed and together with and U- form feet is giving the character of this wardrobe collection, as we can see on the company catalogue from 1935. Near the 3-door wardrobe model SK 3, a 2-door wardrobe SK 1 was presented. This wardrobes are restored on request, delivery time c. 10 weeks.
