This exceptional Biedermeier drop front desk is the best example of top-quality Viennese piece from circa 1825.
Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design.
This rare Biedermeier desk has highly figured walnut veneer with beautiful light deep amber color and 200 years old patina.
Locking roll top with sliding writing ebonized surface works very well and at the same time it is a very functional element of this desk.
The fitted interior with six drawers and two shelves is veneered mostly in maple with ebonized accents. Fine maple inlays emphasize the beauty of this elegant Biedermeier desk. The back of the desk is also veneered so it can stand exposed from all sides.
The piece will be a great complement to any elegant interior. It does not matter whether it is a classic or modern interior because Biedermeier is simply timeless.
The hardware is original and made of brass.
The construction of this piece is very solid and steady.
